MILLSBORO, Del. – The town of Millsboro is gearing up for more construction.
Starting October 1, DelDOT will be closing the town’s main street for railroad crossing improvement and more. Town officials say depending on weather, the closure should last about a week and a half. There will also be construction on Washington Street and according to the Millsboro Town Manager Sheldon Hudson, work will be done to improve sidewalks. Hudson says the sidewalk improvements are also a part of their downtown revitalization plans.
“So, we do expect a significant impact,” said Hudson. “That being said we’re certainly thankful to have people patronizing our businesses and visiting our towns, so we’ll make the most of it and hopefully DelDOT will be able to follow their schedule,” said Hudson. Town officials are asking drivers to be on the lookout for posted detours when construction begins.
