DE State Police – Oldest Tombstones in Greenwood Cemetery Stolen

 Greenwood, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating thefts of tombstones from a Greenwood area cemetery.

On June 15, 2021, Delaware State Police responded to St. Johnstown Cemetery located at 13471 St. Johnstown Road, Greenwood, for a reported theft of tombstones. Over the past three weeks, the groundskeeper has discovered tombstones from the 1800’s stolen each week with a total of seven or eight stolen. These tombstones were the among the oldest in the cemetery.
