Seaford Man Arrested on Weapons and Explosive Devices charges in Millsboro

Delaware State Police arrested 22-year-old Joshua Allen Rieley of Seaford after an investigation leads to the discovery of weapons and explosive devices. 

On March 24, 2021, Delaware State Police responded to a residence on Hollyville Road, Millsboro, for a reported drug complaint. Through the investigation, glass bottles were discovered in a shed filled with an unknown substance, and the bottles were possibly Molotov Cocktails. The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office, Delaware State Police Bomb Unit, and Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control responded to the scene. Delaware State Fire Marshals Office assumed the investigation for the incendiary devices. A search warrant was executed on the shed, and the following items were discovered inside:

  • Military Gear
  • Materials to make explosives
  • .22 assault-style rifle with an obliterated serial number
  • ManKung crossbow

Rieley was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 4, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Possession of a Destructive Weapon by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number (Felony)

Rieley was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $35,000.00 secured bond on the above charges.

The Delaware State Fire Marshalls Office is the investigating agency dealing with the explosive devices.
