SEAFORD, Del. – The Sussex County Salvation Army has received a 60,000 dollar donation allowing them to help more kids across the region.
The donation was made by the Jeff and Ronda Banning Foundation. That money will help the Salvation Army in Seaford do things like give kids free piano lessons and provide kids free after school transportation Monday through Friday. The money will also help the Sussex County Salvation Army give kids free homework help.
Lieutenant Miguel Alban Guerrero at the Salvation Army says donations like this make all the difference in children’s lives. “The kids are the future and there’s not enough programs for the children around this community,” said Guerrero. “There’s some, but there’s not enough where you can invest daily in their lives and consistency is very important,” said Guerrero.
