Lottery officials say a Bridgeville man won $50,000 in Wednesday's POWERBALL drawing.

Delaware Lottery officials say that 46-year-old Jeffery Clouser, of Bridgeville, is a POWERBALL winner.

According to lottery officials, Clouser won $50,000 after checking his tickets in hopes of winning the $700 Million jackpot. After learning that the the jackpot winner was a woman from Massachusetts, Clouser was reportedly encouraged by his mother-in-law, a former convenience store employee, to check his tickets.

About his win, Clouser, a husband and father of four, says, "I purchased five tickets, and it wasn't until I checked the last ticket that I knew I was a winner. I thought the ticket was maybe worth $100, but when I pulled it up on the website to {verify}, I saw that it was for $50,000—I couldn't believe it!"

Officials say that Clouser stated that he will continue to play Lottery games on occasion when the mood hits him.

Lottery Officials report that the winning numbers from the Aug. 23 drawing were 06, 07, 16, 23 and 26. The POWERBALL number was 04, and the Power Play number was 4x.
